Transportation / Parking Information

By BUS

Taipei e-bus System English website: http://www.e-bus.taipei.gov.tw/new/english/en_index_6_1.aspx
You can take bus route 205, 212, 212Express, 212Shuttle, 270, 270Shuttle, 276, 306, 620, 645, 645Sub, 679, BL25, S1, S5 or S12 to AS.
Please get off at "Academica Sinica" stop, then walk through AS campus to the Activity Center.

By MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)

There are two MRT stations close to AS: "Nangang Station" and "Nangang Exhibition Center Station". From these two stations you can take taxi or bus to AS.
From Exit 5 of MRT "Nangang Exhibition Center Staion" you can take bus route 205, 212, 276, 306, 620, 645, 645Sub, 679, S1, or S12 to "Academia Sinica" stop, then walk to the Activity Center.
From Exit 2 of MRT "Nangang Station" you can take bus route 212Shuttle, 212Express, 270, or BL25 and get off at "Academia Sinica" stop, then walk to the Activity Center.
If you take taxi, it will cost around NT$100 from either of the two MRT stations.

By Taxi

Taxi can go into AS campus through main entrance and park in front of the Activity Center.
Parking is free if the car leaves AS campus within 30 minutes.
Most Taiwan taxi accept cash only.

By Train

You can take train to Nankang train station, then take:
- bus route 205, 212, 276, 306, 306Shuttle, 679, S5, or S5Shuttle at front door exit (in Nangang Road),
- or bus route 212Shuttle, 212Express, 270, 270Shuttle, or BL25 at back door exit (in Zhongxiao East Road).
Please get off at "Academia Sinica" stop, then walk to the Activity Center.

Parking Information

There is a small parking lot for motorcycle/scooter at main entrance. Besides there are also parking spaces for motorcycle/scooter around AS.
Cars can directly go into AS campus with visitor registration at the main entrance.
Visitor parking lot is located on B2 of the Humanities and Social Sciences Building (HSSB).
Parking is free, if the car leaves AS campus within 30 minutes. Rules of the parking fee are as follows:
- NT$ 20 for the first hour,
- NT$ 10 for each additional half an hour after the first hour,
- parking less than half an hour will be counted as half an hour.
It will take about 3 minutes to walk from HSBB to the Activity Center.

Red arrow No.1 on upper right corner of the map is the main entrance through which cars can go into AS campus
Visitor parking lot (HSSB) is located at "Green No. 24" on the map.
Activity Center is located at "Green No. 20" on the map.

From Songshan Airport to AS

You can take the MRT Wenhu (brown) Line, transfer at Zhongxiao Fuxing station, and then take Bannan (blue) Line to the aforementioned MRT stations (either Nangang Exhibition Center or Nangang would suffice.), then take taxi or bus to AS.
Besides, taking a taxi directly from the airport to the venue is the most convenient way. It will cost you around NT$ 200~300.

From Taoyuan Airport to AS

Airport Bus "Kuokuang 1843 line" can bring you to MRT "Nangang Exhibition Center Station" while "Kuokuang 1819 line" goes to Taipei Main Station. Both line destinations are in downtown Taipei. You can then easily reach the venue by taxi, bus, or MRT.
Taking taxi from Taoyuan Airport to AS campus costs NT$1200~1500. The taxi can go into AS campus through main entrance and park in front of the Activity Center.

The 2015 Joint Workshop on Open Data Research — jointly organized by Academia Sinica (Taiwan), Open Data Institute (UK), and the British Trade and Culture Office in Taiwan — will be held on March 20, 2015 at Academia Sinica in Taipei. The goal of the workshop is to promote the exchange of ideas, practices, and perspectives about open data, in particluar in the context of research and development. Speakers and panelists from UK and Taiwan will present and discusss case studies, best practices, and research projects. All are invited to take part in the workshop. It is hoped that by engaging the various research and technical communities in Taiwan, UK, and worldwide, this event will help enable further open data research opportunities and connections.

You are much encouraged to participate in the workshop if you are or will be working on datasets released by others to the public for reuse. If you have been or are considering releasing your datasets to the public, you have more the reason to participate. Developers, researchers, students, and citizens, you are all welcomed. Let us all learn from one another to help shape open data practices.
